This blog is a place where we put the concept of “self care” into practice, so that each of us may be empowered to live a life that is healthy and violence free. This is a space for those of us who understand the weight of power based personal violence–sexual assault, partner violence and stalking violence. We seek to end to power based personal violence for ourselves and others.
This blog is a creation of the University of Kentucky’s Violence Intervention and Prevention Center. The Violence Intervention and Prevention (VIP) Center works with students, staff, faculty, and community partners toward the mission of eliminating the perpetration of power-based personal violence including sexual assault, partner violence and stalking.
While our heart is ensuring that victims of violence are met with the very best support, compassion and services that is humanly possible – our passion is reducing the number of individuals who ever become victims of violence to begin with.
